A used printer (Epson 2190 Impact printer) was booked with TCS from Karachi to be delivered at my address in Mirpur Azad Kashmir. TCS booking number/tracking number: 306032186208 dated 25-04-2020.
TCS charged Rs=4,400/- to the shipper which also include Rs=700/- on account of premium for sum insured Rs=70,000/-
Since dispatched item (Printer) was fragile, shipper explicitly told the TCS office about fragile nature of the item and insisted to ensure safe transportation. TCS booking office told the shipper to be satisfied and assured that product would be handled with care. Furthermore, it was told that item is insured for sum of Rs.70,000/- which was indicated in booking receipt.
TCS Mirpur office delivered the parcel on 27-04-2020 at my office in Mirpur i.e. delivery address which was received by the office boy. Please note that TCS does not allow opening and inspection of the delivered goods and obtain signature from recipient against SEALED/CLOSED box. Box was opened at our office on our next working day 29-04-2020 and it was found that printer was transported so badly that it was complete crushed and was beyond any repair. TCS both origin and destination offices has been contacted but no satisfactory reply received so far.
