SUBJECT: Post-Graduate Residents working at ‘’Abbasi Shaheed Hospital’’ Paposh Nagar, Karachi did not receive any monthly stipends during the past nine months.
Respected Sir,
It is stated that, after numerous days of hard work and studying throughout for several months, I chose Abbasi Shaheed Hospital to do my Post Graduation from. Due to several reasons and hold of a well known political party, I would not like to reveal my name. It has been 9 months now that in spite of the working day and night, giving 24-hour calls and fulfilling all our job requirements, all the Resident Trainees of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital,Karachi have not been given their monthly stipend for last 9 months.
When we were given the offer letter, we were not informed that we will have to work for so long without getting any stipend. The offer letter clearly indicated that we will be given stipend every month. I just want to bring into your notice that if we do not get any stipend for long periods of time, it affects our behavior, also our surgical abilities and it brings us emotional disturbance too as we have families to look after . Also, we worked day and night to achieve these posts, but it is not fair if we are not given what we were promised.
Recently an internal medicine trainee from Abbasi Shaheed hospital committed suicide as he could not cope with financial pressures. Being at such a higher post, it is your duty to know that we are experiencing financial and emotional distress even though we worked very hard in our lives and chose this noble profession, which we only regret now. Kindly take an action regarding this issue. I shall be very thankful to you for this favor.

mai aik aam shehri hn aj kal meray mamo abbasi hospital mai admit hain mera first time ic hospital mai jana hoa hai aur time spent karna hoa hai ….last saturday sy continue hospital mai hn ic hospital ki koi aik do nahi bhut si complains hain jis ki taraf govt ko zurror tawaja deni chaye … ku k aik ghareeb admi gov hospital hi ja skta hai ap logo ki tarah out of country ya private hospital nahi ….aik insan ki zindagi bhut qemti hoti hai magar ic hospital mai ja k ahsas hoa k yahan tu insan ki zindagi aik khilonay sy zada nahi hai ….meray mamo 5 din sy ICU mai hn unki sergeory hoi hai in 5 dino mai srf 2 dafa dr check karny aye hain wo b hum bulany gaye hain tb yahan ICU mai 4 din sy koi duty DR nahi aya sb kch nurses py hai ….operation k 3 din bad hamary khny py bandage change hoi hai hamary hi khny py bed cover change hoa hai jo k vomits ki vaja sy pora ganda hgya tha ….in 5 dino mai daily 5/6 test tu normal hain ab tk 30/35 test ho chukay hain but result v dnt know ….bcz of dr is absent …..meray samnay aik young larki ki death hoi jo k ventilator py thi brain serguory hoi thi 2 din tk uski nose ,mouth, or side bag sy blood ata raha but dr nahi aya aur bil akhir wo bachi mar gaye jis ki eid k bad shadi thi qatil kon government ya dr dono nahi insan ki gurbat ….meri govt sy apeal hai k please gov hospital ki halat behter karein ta ky be gunah insano ki mout k zimaydar ap log na houn …. yahan tu koi pakar nahi but ALLAH k han sb ki pakar hai aur ap wahan jawab day hain
