I ordered 2 Nike Sneakers (Rs. 3400/- each) from Fahad Ansari / Waris Khan at Youbuyer.com.pk (Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/youbuyer.com.pk/?hl=en) and was informed that I will receive my order within next 4 to 6 working days via Leopard Courier Services.
Fahad was in constant touch with me for last 2 to 3 weeks on whatsapp and sent videos of the shoes prior to my order. A day after placing the order with Fahad on whatsapp, Leopard Courier Services called and said, since it’s Cash on Delivery, you have to pay Rs. 6,800/- to the rider before opening the parcel. Next Day, I received a text message from Leopard Courier Services mentioning that the rider is on its way with the parcel (The Text did not come from a mobile number but instead was named as Leopards). The text also mentioned rider’s mobile number as following: 0344 2797425. I doubt this message came from Leopards Courier Service.
Upon arriving, the rider from Leopard Courier Services said I have to pay before I open the parcel as these were the instructions mentioned on the parcel under the remarks section by the seller. The seller’s detail on the parcel did not have a valid mobile number (switched off) or an office / warehouse address.
The parcel mentioned A/C name as: 548768 / Shoppingarena.co, Address as: Al Habib Market Near II Chundigarh Round Karachi. The contact number of seller was mentioned as: 0335 3816501. (again, switched off)
I paid the rider Rs. 6,800 and opened the parcel. To my surprise, there were 2 completely different shoes of very poor quality and torn packaging. I asked the rider to connect me with his manager right away as this is a scam and Leopard Courier Services is promoting and encouraging such unlisted businesses by collecting payments on their behalf from customers without even letting them open the parcel.
