I would like to draw your attention today to the extremely rude, immoral, uncivilized, and unprofessional behavior of the employees of the State Bank of Pakistan Muzaffarabad Branch. I have noticed this attitude of SBP employees many times before but never complained. But today I think it is appropriate to complain. I have seen people being humiliated there many times before. And I have been seeing the inappropriate attitude of the employees towards the people but today the limit has been reached.
First of all, when I took time out of my busy schedule and went to SBP. I wanted to cash in on some prize bonds. First I went to counter number 6 with the token (Token No. 8538). “At this time (12:46) we can’t entertain prize bonds,” the official said. Because we arrive at 08:00 in the morning and we are also fasting. However, after some argument, he said that you will have to wait for half an hour. After that, work will be done. It’s as if he did it to annoy. Meanwhile, I was informed that there would be a clearance of bonds before counter number 12 or 15. When I went to this counter for the clearance of bonds, the official there said that your token has been announced but you did not come. I told him that I couldn’t hear because I was doing completing the forms. The other thing was that I was sitting on the other corner where the sound was not going. Even if I made a mistake, there is still time for you to do your job. On which the official (whom everyone was calling by the name of Mr. Butt) said that now the counter is closed. I said how the counter can be closed at 01:10. But he said I have to pray and you have to come the next day. Meanwhile, an officer present there. I went to him and told him the problem. They also told me to come in the morning and the counter is closed. I also told them how the counter could be closed before the time? But I think he was afraid of the other officer and he was unable to bring him back to duty.
Sir! The problem is that if the bank staff is in fasting then we are all in fasting too. There is no need to be kind to anyone. Secondly, if this is the attitude of the central bank, then the subordinate banks of the central bank would also treat their customers in the same manner. In the same way, it seems that all the employees are uncontrolled. Even though there is such a security system and cameras, the cheapness, negligence and job theft of the officials are not being caught. Looking at the condition of the bank, I do not think that any action will be taken on my complaint, but as a responsible citizen, I have done my duty.
